Hitter of the Week (Week 8):

Joe Sclafani (Dartmouth) Morehead City (Week 8):
Sclafani, a sophomore from Dartmouth, played in four games on the week for the Marlins and finished with a .571 average. Of his 14 at bats, he had eight hits, one of which was good for a triple. Sclafani scored seven runs and drove in five, while tallying 10 total bases with a .714 slugging percentage, .684 on-base percentage, five walks, and a stolen base.

Zach Taylor (Evansville) Wilmington (Week 8):
Taylor, a junior from Evansville made history on July 22 by allowing no hits, no walks, and no base runners, to become the first pitcher in CPL history to throw a perfect game.  In his only appearance of the week for the Sharks, the 6-5, 220-pound right hander pitched a 9-inning gem against Fayetteville striking out four, and retiring 27 straight batters to earn the win.

William Scott (Kennesaw State) Martinsville (Week 8):
The 6-1, 185-pound Scott, threw a complete game for the Mustangs on July 24 against Forest City. The sophomore right-hander from Kennesaw State went nine innings, surrendering just five hits, and no earned runs. He struck out an impressive 13 batters, walked two, and held opposing batters to a mere .156 average to get the win.
